Will
of
James
TRIBBECK
of Swanwick 1759
In the name of God Amen.
Third day of May in
the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine.
I James Tribbeck of
Swanwick in the Parish of Titchfield in the county of Southton yeoman
being in good health and of sound mind and memory do make this my last
will and testament in manner following that is to say first I command my
soul into the hand of God Almighty who gave it hoping through the merits
death and passion of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have
pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life :
and as for my worldly estate I give devise and dispose thereof as
followeth that is to say I give to my brother
John and to
my sister Mary
the Wife of John
Cleverley and
to my sister
Betty the
wife of William
Durman and to each of them one shilling and no more.
Item I give to my daughter
Dorcas all
my estate and lands called Eyres
Down the use and profits of it as long as she shall live but not
to sell or mortgage it or any part of it but to go to the next proper
aired (sic) of her own body if she have any but if Dorcas should have no child the Estate called Eyres Down to go to the next right proper aire of her sister Molly’s
body. Item I give to
my daughter
Molly
the House with all the appurtenances called
Late Frys at Cager Green.
Also I give to my daughter
Molly
all my estate and lands at Sarsbury called late Galriolls
or Collses.
Also I give to my daughter
Molly
the Sloop and boats with all the
appurtenances theirs unto
belonging . Also I give to
my daughter
Molly
all my goods cattells and chattels
after my death. My daughter Molly
is not to mortgage or to sell any of her lands but that it may go to the
next proper aires of her body if any and if she has none to go to the
right proper aires of her sister
Dorcas’s
body if any. And I do
appoint my daughter
Molley (sic)
my full and hole (sole?) executor of this my last will and testament
whereby I now set my hand and seal ye day and year first above written.

The 21st
day of July 1759
On which day appeared personally a Robert Fielder of the parish of
Botley in the county of Southton Yeoman and Nicholas Petty of the parish
of Titchfield in the same county Wheelwright and being severally sworn
to depose the truth and nothing but the truth did depose and say that
they well knew and were acquainted with James Tribbeck late of Swanwick
in the parish of Titchfield aforesaid yeoman and with his manner and
character of handwriting and
having respectively read over and perused the writing hereunto annext
purporting and appearing to be the last will and testament of the said
James Tribbeck beginning thus in the name of God Amen and ending thus
whereunto I have set my handand seal day and year first above written
and subscribed thus James Tribbeck these deponents and each of them
depose that they verily believe that the said paper writing and every
part thereof and the name or words James Tribbeck thereunto subscribed
were and are of the proper handwriting of the said James Tribbeck the
testator deceased and of no other person or persons whatsoever.

On which day
administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of
James Tribbeck late of Swanwick in the parish of Titchfield in the
county of Southton and
Di
ocese of Winchester Yeoman deceased with his will hereto annext was
granted and committed to John Tribbeck the only natural and lawful
Brother of the said deceased during the minority of Molly Tribbeck the
eldest daughter of the said deceased and the sole executrix named in his
said wills he being now under the age of seven years.
And the said
John
Tribbeck
who hath been assigned her guardian was
fully sworn administrator of all the singular and the said goods
chattels and credits with the said will annext during the minority
aforesaid before me.
